We are going skiing in two weeks!
It feels like such a long time since our last set of turns in March 2017, so I’m a little excited. To make it even more exciting, Perisher is in the middle of its best season in 14 years! They’ve just hit over two metres of snow and have announced that they are staying open until 7 October – which is really late for the Australian season. (The last time we went skiing in September, which was about 7 years ago, I was avoiding mud and grass on the ski runs.)
It’s always a gamble planning to ski late season in Australia, especially when you plan well in advance; it’s nice to know it will pay off for us this year.
We purchased Epic Australia passes last year and took advantage of early bird accommodation rates back in February, all knowing full well that we might end up with nothing but grass to ski. Two weeks out from our trip and there is a natural snow depth of two metres so and there is more snow forecast. I’m looking forward to some decent snow along with some nice groomers and blue bird days.
It’s going to be a long drive to the Snowy Mountains from Adelaide, but I’m excited for a bit of a road trip as well. I’ll aim to keep my blog updated during the trip. It will be my first attempt at my new blog while actually travelling, so I’m looking forward to that adventure too!
